Autonomous Tattoo Machine is a first prototype of a self-built autonomous tattoo robot. It is able to mark a certain area on the body with permanent traces in the form of a tattoo in order to illustrate and exaggerate the consequence of the interaction with the machine. In the course of the project, the craft of tattooing was learned in order to draw conclusions on the implementation and to be able to transfer the criteria thus learned to the machine. The last step of the learning process, tattooing on actual skin, is to be completed with the machine on one‘s own body. At the same time, with the help of the prototype, the question is to be pursued to what degree trust can be built up towards the machine in order to achieve a moment of transfer of control with the tattoo.
